Arr. I have to say that the Return of the King trailer has led me back towards full Lord of the Rings obsession/fandom again. Not that I ever stopped liking it but my enthusiasm had died down quite a bit. I'm now fairly obsessed with it again, perhaps it will get me to pick up the book.

Anyways, the day is December 16-- the one and only day that all 3 films will be shown in sequence in the theater:

Leading up to the December 17 release of The Lord of The Rings: The Return of the King, the final film Peter Jackson’s epic trilogy, New Line Cinema will bring moviegoers an exclusive, ONE-time-only in-theater event:
The Lord of the Rings Special Extended Edition Screening Engagement.

The schedule for this special theatrical screening series is as follows:

December 5-11
Special Extended Edition The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

December 12-15
Special Extended Edition The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

Tuesday, December 16
One-time-only marathon of both the Extended Edition prints followed by the first screenings of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

Anyone up for it? I know Heeble's in ;-) I think tickets go on sale for this in October, though I have yet to confirm that it's actually happening at the Jordan Commons yet. If the movie is indeed 3 1/2 hours long, that's over 10 hours of LOTR in one day. Holy sheezy....

Hehe, I need to use sounds more often on my page. Much more hilarious to hear actual movie quotes than just read them.

I get a tingle up and down my spine every time I think about the release of ROTK. I've been waiting for this ever since I saw the first film for the first time, which started me on the path to true mania-hood.

Sloanie said:

Meg, is your b-day the 17th? That's my mom's b-day too, but she's stoked about ROTK and she'll be seeing it the evening of the 16th as a sort of "birthday" present ;) Who knows, maybe we can get her to do the all-day thing.

Look at that I managed to do a post without using the word dude... (I was so ashamed when I saw I had used it twice.)

Richter said:

There is nothing wrong with teh word dude, I use it all the time. Granted, I am California girl, but still, nothing is wrong with the word dude. And holy glory, are you so honest about the LOTR deal? If so I am so there as well. And I know of my best bud Sunshine too would go. Keep me posted Mike, and on a side note, I am still offended about that getting a life comment :p

richter's a girl.. i had no idea. shows you how sexy i am... er, sexist. and yep, megan's my wife. and of course you're whipped sweetie!

Richter said:

Oh sad, you didn't know I was a girl? I think I am hurt...

Sloanie said:

Well if you went by "Clerissa" it would be a dead giveaway now wouldn't it? But since usually guys are the ones that go by their last names, it's not a hard mistake to make ;)
